The Bad, The Good, And The Gooder…
The bad news: Well, we’ve held on for as long as we could but it looks like we’ll have to concede defeat, so we’ve taken the decision with the promoters that the IQ Christmas shows will not take place this year. We’ve been hoping against hope that there’d be an improvement in the whole Covid situation but it seems things are actually getting worse again and we feel it would be really irresponsible (and probably illegal) to attempt any kind of mass gathering for the foreseeable future. We’re soooo sorry we’ve had to do this - we were all really looking forward to playing live and seeing you all again (gigs - remember those?) but it seems it can’t happen quite yet.
The good news is we have managed to book the Christmas gigs for next year and the promoters say that any tickets for the 2020 Christmas shows will be valid for the 2021 dates. Details for the new shows are: 229 Club, London, Friday 10th December & De Boerderij, Zoetermeer, Saturday 11th December.
The Gooder news... In a valiant effort to keep the spirit of live gigs alive Arie at the Boerderij has asked us if we have anything he could show at the venue on the night of the (non) Christmas Bash this year. We’ve looked deep into the ancient IQ archive vaults and think we’ve found something interesting… the Subterranea show from our 2011 IQ30 weekend celebrations was filmed and recorded but has never been seen (not even by the band!). Mike is busy as we speak editing the footage and mixing the sound and he’s confident he’ll have it ready for Arie to show at the venue on Saturday December 12th this year. Due to the social distancing rules attendance will be strictly limited to 55 people, and Arie assures us that it will be a safe environment for everyone. Those of you wishing to attend should keep an eye on the Boerderij website for more details.
